Polar Beverages Auburn, MA

When completed, this warehouse will house more than 240,000 square feet of warehouse space, and 56 tractor trailer loading docks.  Polar Beverages of Worcester, Massachusetts plans to occupy this site.  This will greatly streamline their distribution efforts by allowing them to consolidate several of their smaller, more remotely located warehouses into this one large warehouse.  This will save them time, fuel, labor and overall distribution costs.

For this project we performed the  property line surveying, existing conditions surveying, proposed addition plot plan, parking and building addition site plan, drainage design, lighting design, construction support stakeout, and various as-built services.  We also palyed a key role in the approval process, both with  the Planning Board and the Conservation Commission .

Drainage and storm water management was very challenging on this site as most of the site was covered with building and paving.  In order to solve this problem we designed an under-parking lot detention pond to mitigate the potential increase in runoff, and we designed an extended detention wetland with fore bays to capture and clean the parking lot, storm water runoff before it leaves the site.

We continue to work for Polar Beverage on additional designs and they are pleased with our efforts.
